Made of a firmer Dacron than the Class approved radial sail for better wear. Cut to class dimensions using same panel sizes. The sail has the same feel as the approved sail. The top class sailors get one competitive season from a sail. Save that expensive class sail for the ILCA approved regattas. Use the practice sail for all other sailing. Double or even triple the life of your class approved sail!
Fabric is a 3.7 oz High Performance Polyester. A high performance dinghy fabric that has been custom resin finished to meet the characteristics of the Laser® Radial mast. (160gm European weight medium finish cloth)
Review by sailing coach Ryan Eric Minth;
"I wrapped up the 2006 SoCal Summer tour very successfully and can
confidently say that Intensity Sails helped.
The first two weeks were spent training with Chris Raab, a top-notch Masters
sailor. The first few days we were focused on our speed, as I had planned
on competing at the Radial Worlds. After receiving confirmation to coach
China's Olympic Radial Team for their duration in the US, the remainder of
the time with Chris was spent on his tuning/speed. Having two evenly
matched new sails was paramount to Chris' preparation and very helpful to my
coaching of "Radial Team China". Beyond economical even-speed, two-boat
testing, Intensity Sails adjusted my disposition on cunningham settings with
the new (Mark6) Radial rig.
The proof is in the results:
* Chris Raab, top American, 2006 Men's Radial Worlds.
* Xu Lijia, 2006 Women's Radial World Champion
(CHN's first Worlds victory in an Olympic Sailing Class).
Intensity Sails are now a key component to the success of my private
coaching and training programs."

"The intensity sails laser radial sail is fantastic to use for training. I
am able to train with good sails, which makes it more realistic for when I
have a big event when I will actually be using a new sail.
It is important to keep your set up and techniques consistent, and when
using old sails, this tends to change a lot to compensate for the softness
of an old sail. This is never ideal in training.
It is nice to know, I can go out in 30knots and just thrash my sail, and not
worry about how much is has cost me to buy.
The shape and cloth are so similar; you don?t even realize that they are not
made by laser. I recommend them to anyone doing a lot of training"

Sail Care TipsIf you are sailing in salt water rinse your sail after every use with fresh water. This will protect your sail fromn mildew and excess wear from dried salt working into the dacron weave.
If your Dacron sail becomes dirty it can be washed by hand using a mild dish washing detergent with a thorough fresh water rinse. Do not use harshe cleaning agents like bleach. This will harm the finish and the fabric.
Try not to leave your sail exposed to sun and wind longer than necessary. Flogging in the wind and longterm UV exposure will shorten the life of your sail. After rinsing off the sail can be dried in the shade on a grassy area if possible. Try to avoid rough surfaces like gravel or shells. Asphalt can also transfer petro chemicals onto the sail that will harm the fabric.
Your sail is provided with a nylon sail storage tube. This allows you to roll up your sail and insert it into the tube when dry. This is the best sorage method. Crumpling or folding will crease the fabric and reduce the life of the sail.
When rolling your sail it is accepted as best practice to start at the head of the sail and roll to the foot. Battens can be removed or left in for short periods of storage.
Do not store your sail inside a car on a hot day. High temperatures will also shorten the life of your sail.
